Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the International Conference NEW

On June 27, 2016, 09.40 am., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for the Sustainable Development Goals : Policy and Practice In Cerebration of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 5th cycle birthday anniversary  at the Energy for Environment Centre, The Sirindhorn International Environmental Park, Cha-am, Phetchaburi Thailand.

 

Prof.Dr.Sanit Aksornkoae, Chairman of the Executive Board Member of SIEP presented the program of the conference to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, then  gave her gracious permission to Dr.Sumet Tantivejkul, Chaiman of SIEP Foundation Board to deliver the introductory Remarks for the International Conference.

   

Dr.Sonjai Havanond, Deputy Managing Director of SIEP call announced the presence of Board Members and Donors to receive tokens from HRH. 

   

Dr.Mario T Tabucanon, Visiting Professor, United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) gave a lecture to HRH under the topic “Perspectives on the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals”

 

In addition, HRH also visited the exhibition boots presented by public and private sectors.

 

In this event, there was so many participants from government sectors and Non-governmental organizations academic and research institutes who come to participate in the opening ceremony and the conference about 300 participants.

  

  

 

In addition to the International Conference, SIEP also hosted two other international events which are the meeting of the Asia-Pacific Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development, also known as RCEs, as well as the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Capacity Building Workshop on Policy Support Tools.  The RCEs, located in many countries worldwide, are acknowledged by the United Nations University. The Sirindhorn International Environmental Park serves as lead organization for RCE Cha-am, a locally-grounded network which Your Royal Highness inaugurated in July 2008.
